Obama has lost a quarter of Jewish supporters
Two polls. Same answer. Obama has lost at least a quarter of 2008 Jewish voters. In fact, rather historically, a large segment of those now turning to Romney have voted for Democrats in at least the last four Presidential elections.
“American Jews have always picked the liberal side due to their own history of suffering,” said Joel Leyden, Director of Jews4MittRomney.com. “American Jews have always perceived the Democratic Party as being more sensitive and understanding to human issues. But after four years of no hope and no change, of unemployment at its worst rate in over 30 years, and with Israel being threatened with nuclear weapons by Iran, the Jewish vote is now going through an historic transition.”
The Investors Business Daily poll was taken before the great debate and found that a quarter of Jewish voters were switching their votes to Romney. The INA poll (searching for link, heard it discussed on the radio here) was taken the day after the debate and shows the lowest support for a Democratic candidate among Jews since Jimmy Carter. Those numbers have probably decreased further now as, like for the rest of the country, it took most people a few days for the Denver Horror Show to really sink in and now the Benghazi Horror Show is just starting to hit the stage.
The INA poll shows that nearly 50% of Jewish voters polled were either unsure of who they will vote for now or have firmly switched their support to Romney.
