Just sayin’

Romney is polling now better than every victorious challenger to the Presidency since 1968. Early voting in Ohio is going 52 Romney to 47 Obama. The Demoines Register, a very liberal rag, has endorsed a Republican for the first time in 40 years — yeah they even went for Carter and Mondale over Reagan. In fact, all four newspapers of record in Iowa have endorsed Romney and only one of them is a conservative-leaning rag. People keep saying it is going to be a close race but I don’t believe it. I put my faith in solidly collected and analyzed statistics (in some cases needing to be re-analyzed to account for the skew the original collectors built in). No, I don’t think it is going to end up being close.

I hope that you are right, and it sure is looking good! I wonder what the story is on the admiral who was relieved of command from his naval ship in the Middle East, one that was within distance to have offered support to Benghazi? No one knows the back story on this… only that he has indeed been removed for “leadership” issues….

We still have the bet about the Jewish vote, though.

High stakes indeed! Bush’s Vegetarian Baked Beans!! These really are the best 🙂

  4. israeliminx says :

Very high! But I’m hopeful of those beans because of an article (I’ll have to find it and link) from last week in Florida where a Dem campaigner who was interviewed noted that most of her Jewish friends were not planning to vote this time because they couldn’t bring themselves to vote for a Republican but they also couldn’t vote for Obama. yeah, I’m hopeful that 70% or more of U.S. Jews are not just 100% dirt stupid.

Oh yeah, if you don’t think that abject PANIC is running through the Obama ranks then explain why it is that Bill Clinton has been dispatched to campaign in….Minnesota. 🙂

    • Lynne says :

Oh, goody! Bill is out and about just as Monica’s tell-all hits the market 🙂

According to the part of MSM which I read, Obama is handling the Sandy crisis very well, leaving Romney wordless and at risk of losing the elections due to this.
      What’s the truth?

      • Lynne says :

Obama hasn’t really had a chance to do much yet. He told the public to go to the internet for information related to the storm but forgot to tell them where to obtain information if power went out….
Obama will do all that he can to be perfect in handling the storm. Romney has stopped campaigning and started a distribution process to get supplies to those hit by the storm…the election…it’s close and anything can happen in the few days left before the election.
Hurricane Sandy must seem like an answer to Obama’s prayers, as the focus is on the devastation from the storm and off the storm of controversy about Benghazi.

Yeah the MSM, specifically Andrea Mitchell but also others, engaged in a really egregious attack with erroneous information regarding Romney and his relief efforts for victims of Sandy. Romney did two things: first, he asked that instead of donating money to his campaign that people donate that money instead to the Red Cross. Second, he did an emergency supplies drive, collecting bottled water and canned food that he then used his campaign buses to deliver to the emergency evacuation centers that had expressed concern that they were not going to have enough supplies on hand for the number of evacuees they were expecting and to established local charity groups that act as first responders following an emergency before the federal govt is able to get aid to specific locales and that needed such supplies. Mitchell and others went on air and accused Romney of collecting food and clothes for the Red Cross stating that this was not something the Red Cross could use or would use and that this kind of donation causes them all kinds of problems and is a bad thing to do (nearly akin to killing someone if you listen to Mitchell)…and they well knew that he was doing nothing of the kind.

BTW, I’d never ever give a penny to the Red Cross because the bulk of the pennies they get do not go to helping people in need but to running the bureaucracy aspect of the Red Cross — the head of the Red Cross draws a salary just under one million dollars a year and they’ve got several hundred folks who get salaries between $250- $500 k each and all paid for via your donations. The bulk of the supplies they deliver comes from corporations that donate over-stocks while the donations they get from individuals goes to paying salaries etc. Ema, do you still have that information that breaks down how much of received donations go where, showing which charities use the majority of donations to actually aid people and which ones are more of a racket?

      • TDDPirate says :

So Romney’s call to donate to the Red Cross is not that bright idea?
Couldn’t he have chosen another NGO to help people at need due to Sandy?

        • israeliminx says :

Pirate — most people reflexively think the Red Cross is the place to give and at one point it was the only place to give if you wanted to help in an international situation. I used to give to the R.C. as well until I read the breakdown of where the money donated actually goes. That information is not widely available. My other beef with the Red Cross is that in the last 20 years it has become very political in nature — Hamas and Hezbollah did not steal those red cross ambulances to transfer weapons and terrorists in but were actively helped by R.C. workers.

Yaeli, good comment! When I was a little girl, my uncle who served in the Pacific and in Europe on WWII told me that the Red Cross had refreshments set up at various times but that the soldiers were asked to pay for them. He said that they were a disappointing group, and not helpful as many other groups were. I have never given one cent to the Red Cross, and i never will. They are a corrupt organization.

From your lips to HaShem’s ears. As far as the red cross goes they give a greater pct.of the money to those who need it than the US gov.does. The gov.only gives 15c of ea.$1.00 it collects for its programs, the rest goes to gov.employees.as a kid back in the 60s i was a kiwaniss jr.police @ school.they gave us cans told us to wear our official gear and collect money for the red cross.i heard more horror stories about the red cross and how they dissed our G.I.s during ww2 korea and were doing it in nam.i got 0 donations.of course i got 0 trying to sell scout a rama tix and candy.rfk jr.got $400k a year to run the charity he worked for but no one complains about him.i guess if you are a liberal you get a pass.if bush were still potus the msm would be bitching that he waited to long to tour the area.if the truth be known bush warned the governor of Louis.and mayor nagan 5 days before katrina hit to evacuate N.O.but they chose to gamble and bitch about bush later.fact is i hope Romney cleans obamas clock.
