I agree. This should not even need explanation; it’s only evil people who even suggest that Israel withdraw to the 67borders, a suggestion that they would make no place else in the world under similar circumstances. Of course, Israel cannot withdraw to the 67 borders. Look at the action that the US is taking with fortifying defenses against Iran and North Korea on the East and West coasts—thousands of miles from both countries.

Military high ground. Military high ground. Military high ground. Israel MUST hang onto the military high ground. I’m just an Aussie housewife – though, way back in the day, I did read Churchill’s History of WWII, and I’ve also read things like C S Forester – but even I can grasp the basic principle of Military High Ground, and the other principle – Strategic Depth – which is even more important in these days of motorised transport and long-range missiles. Throw in my coming to understand the Islamic doctrine of Jihad, and the fact that Jew-hatred is simply hard-wired into Islam, and then add a very basic (learned from those maps in the back of my bible) knowledge of the topography of eretz Israel, and there you have it: my total support for tiny embattled Israel retaining control of A/ the Golan Heights and B/ the Hills of Judea and Samaria, including ALL of Jerusalem, most especially Mount of Olives, Temple Mount, Mount Zion. Having fanatical Jew-hating Muslims lobbing rockets into Israel from out of Jihad Armed Camp Gaza is bad enough. They would do just the same from those other higher vantage points, if they could.
