Egyptian blogger Alaa arrested again

I’m worried about Sandmonkey. Alaa (remember several years ago, I took part in the free Alaa campaign when he was jailed for criticizing the Egytpian government) has been arrested again, this time for criticizing Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood on his blog. There are arrest warrants out for four other bloggers but they aren’t identified in the article over at The Blaze. From inside the prosecutor’s office, Alaa posted messages on Twitter saying most of the accusations were based on comments sent to his account by others, rather than anything he posted himself.

Meanwhile, Islamists in Egypt have taken over a mosque and are using it as a house of torture for Christians who had been demonstrating against the ruling Muslim Brotherhood in the latest case of violent persecution that experts fear will only get worse.

How ’bout that Arab spring.

Maybe Obama will send the Brotherhood some more money! Notice that the media that embraced the “Arab Spring” is quiet on these developments in Egypt and elsewhere. I guess they are saving their wrath for the next time that they are able to distort one of Israel’s defensive actions and scream about it in headlines. Mum is the word in the mainstream media and among Democrats when it comes to Islamists’ crimes across the Middle East.

[OFFTOPIC] Each few months I receive from the Technion (my alma mater) a journal with news items about researches and educational projects in which the Technion is involved. Today I received the most recent issue.

After noticing that there are several items about Israeli Arabs and Druzes, I began to wonder when will the BDS start boycotting Israeli Arab and Druze scientists and engineers due to their having defected from the war-by-boycott against “the Israeli apartheid”.

(The equivalent of “pinkwashing” in the spheres of science and engineering.)
