Obama it is way too late on Syria

If the U.S. was going to give support, much less arms, to the rebels in Syria, the time to act and do that was when the ‘rebels’ –or ‘opposition’ as they were then — were simply a large group of folks engaged in peaceful protest. A year and a half later, more than 100,000 dead later, and after the ‘opposition’ has been taken over and replaced by insurgents who’ve pledged fealty to Al Qaeda — yah know, that isn’t just too little, that is way too late. Arming the rebels now is arming your enemies. I swear, everything the man in the White House is doing is simply bassakwards and he is either the most incompetent, out of the loop, and disengaged leader ever or he is following an agenda and it is one that neither a majority of Americans or his allies are on board with.

Obama, in this case, is doing his typical “leading from behind”–being influenced by the reports coming out of atrocities and the number of deaths in Syria, as well as being influenced by Senator McCain, who supports arming the rebels. I do not suspect McCain of an anti-American agenda, as I often do Obama, but he is misguided. It would be dangerous to arm the rebels at this point. It really is a mess anyway. A tragedy for the good people in Syria.

    You are both exactly right!

Mac, I just read that Iran is sending troops to Syria, Russia is sending weapons (reportedly advanced weaponry), the US is parking troops and planes in Jordan and sending “weapons” but the kind of weapons has not been specified and the recipients have not been identified…. just a crazy mess.
