U.S. willing to give billions in aid to MB terrorists but cuts aid to Egyptian military fighting terrorists

With everything that has gone on in the last 4 years, you’d almost think the U.S. is trying to foster Islamist terrorism and repressive regimes. They called the Muslim Brotherhood — the parent organization of both Al Qaeda and Hamas — moderates and reformers and were happy to give Morsi billions as he cauterized democratic reforms, fostered terrorist groups, imposed medieval restrictions on women, persecuted and murdered Christians wholesale, jailed journalists and shut down the free press, got huggy kissy with Iran, made increasingly threatening remarks toward Israel and more…but now that the Egyptian people, with the help of the military rose up and overthrew Morsi and that the Egyptian military is going after terrorist groups in the Sinai and elsewhere, is working closely with Israel against terrorism, working to put together a truly representative Constitution, restored freedom of the press and a variety of other pro-democracy moves….the U.S. is cutting off aid.
From Ynet:

The United States is cutting hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to Egypt in response to the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi and the crackdown by the military-backed government on his supporters.

The US provides $1.5 billion in aid each year to Egypt. While the State Department did not provide a dollar amount of what was being withheld, most of it was expected to be military aid.

CNN had an article up: Those released from Gitmo return to terrorism. Big surprise.
Our government needs to be reformed. I cannot imagine how that can be accomplished.

It does seem like Obama supports the Muslim Brothers, but for that to be true, it would mean Obama has an actual policy on Egypt and from what I can tell Obama isn’t capable of coming up with a policy on Egypt or any other country for that matter.

lol too true, Mike, too true.

You know, in an odd sort of way, I would feel better about things if Obama did have a policy of supporting the Brothers. It’s not that I like the MB or think such a policy would be a good idea, but at least it would be a policy, which would allow people to argue against it offer alternatives and the like.

As it is, U.S. foreign policy is just adrift so that friend and enemy, U.S. citizen and foreigner can only sit around and wait to see what stupid decision Obama will make next. The guy is in over his head and incompetent. If he wasn’t president, I would feel sorry for the guy. Instead I feel sorry for the rest of us.
