Lapid: Kidnappers won’t get away with it alive

Yo, Lapid is from one of our peacenik parties.
From Arutz7:

Finance Minister Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) spoke on the kidnapping of three yeshiva students on Wednesday, at the US-Israel Joint Economic Development Group (JEDG) conference at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem.

“You are visiting us during difficult times,” Lapid stated. “Three of our sons have been kidnapped by terrorists. Eyal, Gilad and Naftali weren’t kidnapped for something they did, not for political reasons, not for the complications in the peace process, but because they are young Jews.”

“Let us not hide from the facts: Hamas is an Islamic terrorist organization whose avowed goal is to kidnap Jewish children in this case, or kill Jewish children in other cases, only because they are Jews,” he continued. “This will not be tolerated.”

“As we speak, our soldiers are fighting these terror organizations in the alleys, in the houses of the West Bank and Gaza,” he explained. “It is going to be a long, tough campaign, but we will prevail.”

Lapid also dismissed leftist and pro-Palestinian critics, who claim that Israel purposely provoked the confrontation to take advantage for political reasons.

“We did not ask for this confrontation – but let no one think they can kidnap or hurt our children and get away with it alive,” he said. “We will hunt them, and their leaders, down wherever they hide and will severely punish them and those who sent them.”

It disgusts me that I ever had a Leftist philosophy, brainwashed by university professors with a curriculum seeped in Leftist propaganda.
I am totally sick of the media. I would ask you all to just imagine the hell that would break loose if Israel kidnapped three innocent Palestinian students!

I wouldn’t catalog Lapid as peacenik, he is somewhere between Likud and Avoda. I voted for him and actually think his ideas are hold by a large portion of Israelis.
It looks like the army has no clue on the boys. My theory is that is was carried out by a “lone wolf” and not Hamas-related that’s why they are having a hard-time getting to them. I have this horrible feeling that the boys are not alive anymore, why didn’t we heard anything from the kidnappers ? Let’s hope I’m wrong.

Larry, I fear that as well. I hope that is not true and that they are held for “bargaining” the release of prisoners, and that perhaps the kidnappers are staying quiet at the moment to avoid detection. It is a nightmare for the parents, and my heart goes out to them. I cannot imagine their pain.

The kidnapping was definitely well-planned, right down to burning the car and having someplace to take them and a way to transport them from the burned car so if it wasn’t Hamas it may have been a branch of Islamic Jihad. I worry too that they just murdered the boys shortly after taking them or since then to avoid getting caught. I am holding onto hope however. I was convinced that Gilad Shalit was dead when we got no signs of life from him for more than a year ( believe I posted that belief a number of times). So, I’m going with ‘they are alive and we WILL get them back.’ They may be in Gaza — they may have been taken to Gaza before the IDF even started looking for them, it only takes 2 hours to reach the border of Gaza from where they were taken and it was something like 7 hours from the time they were kidnapped until the first searches were launched. (The parents waited the normal several hours of, nu the kids aren’t here yet but they may be having a hard time catching a ride, surely they will be here soon before making the first report –which was ignored. It was only at 3 a.m. when the father of one and brother of another went to the police station and the police finally took notice (they had ignored a call from one of the kids telling them they’d been kidnapped right after the kidnapping happened) and it was a couple of hours before an effective search could begin from there. We cannot rule out that they are being held in Gaza.

I hope that the government is offering a huge reward for information that results in their safe return….someone may know something or suspect something and it could motivate them for their own enrichment…
