Bibi is playing this out exactly right
Newsflash to the international community, in particular Obama whose foreign policy is going so well (in case you missed it, that was heavy sarcasm there): You don’t negotiate with terrorists, particularly when those terrorists have proven themselves entirely untrustworthy by breaking every ceasefire and continue to fire at you. You also don’t agree to the demands that reward the terrorists’ strategy of targeting civilians. You do not let the terrorists hold your country hostage to their demands.
To say that Bibi Netanyahu is under incredible international pressure to give in to terrorists and endanger his entire country is putting things mildly. He’s not willing to say that we will go to hell in a handbasket along with the rest of the Western World and, more on point, he’s not willing to let us be the sacrificial lamb that alerts the rest of the world that they are next and spurs them to the kind of self-defense they deplored when we used it and, believe me, they’d make our actions look mild as milk water. The world’s mea culpe about standing by while millions of Jews were massacred does jack for those who were massacred and we are not willing to be the next group that the world wrings their hands about after the fact.
Hamas wants a war of attrition, they’ve got it. Use those rockets now. The more they use out of their supply, the better the chance that we will see a demilitarized Gaza and then the only real tiniest glimmer for future peace.
Obama the pathetically weak wants to say that Bibi is too strong. No, he could and should be even stronger but, given the incredible pressures he’s under, he has proven strong enough to save his country and people so far. He’s more than earned my respect. I didn’t think he had it in him but he’s proven his metal so far. Stay strong Bibi.
