Electrical intifada

I’ve got a new, new computer. The motherboard on my new computer just up and died a terrible death with zero warning. It is still under warranty but I’ve got to send it back to Israel to get it fixed. The tablet, also under warranty, has serious hardware issues and also must be sent across the big blue sea to get fixed and then sent back. The new printer came with a defective ink cartridge and had software issues that took days to finally fix.

The electrical appliance malfunctions did not end there. The new washing machine in my Ema’s house, just 4 months out of its one year warranty, bit the dust –the computer in it died and was going to cost more to fix than to get a new machine (we bought one of those old-fashioned deals with no computer bells and whistles in it), and the repair man said the dryer (ok, so the dryer was 10 years old) was also going to cost more to fix than to replace –it was causing burn marks on clothing even when run on the lowest temp setting. New dryer (also minus computer bells and whistles). The garbage disposal also went nuts and had to be fixed (thankfully not replaced). Now the dishwasher is acting crazy. It is like there is a poltergeist with a grudge against electrical appliances in the house.

Now, with the newest computer I’ll be blogging again. It is not a great computer and I’m already not pleased with it but at least it is functioning.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

    Lovely to hear from you. Have just moved house and similar things happened, washing machine leaked, fridge freezer stopped working. Special chair stopped working. Washing machine and chair fixed. Fridge freezer being replaced under terms of repair contract. Love to Lynne, the kitties, and of course, yourself x

    Glad to see you back! I was getting worried. Are you getting snow? It is freezin here in Va. and stupid me keeps forgetting to call the oil company so Patches, Vlad and I have spent a very chilly weekend in the house with only a space heater and blankets and warm clothes (for me..vlad and patches aren’t into pet wear) to keep us from turning into frozen statues….

    Well, I was going to tell you to call and complain to the company on the washer being it was just out of warranty, but you’ve already replaced it. Not too long ago I worked at a repair shop that did warranty repairs on TV’s and Cameras. For future info, it never hurts to call/contact a company on a slightly out-of-warranty product. Express to them how disappointed you are that a product of (brand) could break after paying whatever price after such a short period and how you may have to shop other brands if this is the type of quality you can expect from them. Sorry for the run on sentence, lol. It’s possible for them to do a one-time concession to repair your out-of-warranty unit.
    Can’t hurt to try! Don’t be abusive, but do be very disappointed (I can’t believe this broke after… time frame.. I’ve bought your products before and I thought they were good ,dependable items….) You know, be disappointed….. almost hurt in being let down by said product. I know it’s kinda thick, but a little passion can get you some help. They may just be interested in keeping you as a loyal customer.

    This is good advice for anyone paying good money for not cheap products that should last for years, not months…
